Happy Belated Mother's Day!
I hope everyone enjoyed a relaxing fun-filled weekend!
Our time together in 2nd grade is quickly coming to an end.
Thank you again for all of your hard work and support this year - it has been a fabulous year!
We have our end of the year - exhibition day coming up - next Thursday, May 24th.
Please bring you student to school at the regular time - 9:00 - so we can prepare for the day.
The exhibition will start at 10:00 and last until 11:15.
There will be pizza for everyone in the classroom following the exhibition.
Please bring drinks for yourself and your family - if you would like to bring a dessert to share with the class - it would be much appreciated.
No face to face classes the week of May 28th and the week of June 4th.
Our end of year picnic will be at Giggle Hill in Haiku, on June 6th from 11 - 1.
This will be a pot-luck event - please bring something to share as well as plates, utensils and drinks for your family.
(If you need directions - please let me know!)
I will have a sign-up sheet this week for anyone who would like to have an end of the year conference.
I am available to conference with you on Tuesday, May 29th and Thursday May 31st. Please sign up if you are interested in meeting with me.
All students should be at 80% on the K12 - OLS by June 4th - please let me know ASAP if you would like to work on K12 over the summer to reach 100%. Ms Leslie will be hard at work over the summer ordering our new curriculum for next year and all returning students will be able to start their 3rd grade curriculum on Aug. 1st.

Aloha 2nd Grade Families!
Can you believe it - we are almost to the end of the school year!
Congratulations on all of your hard work - it has really paid off - I have seen remarkable growth in all of the children this year - it is so fun to be a part of it - but the biggest part has been your commitment to their education - Thank You!
You all have done a fantastic job!!
As the year comes to an end - the students have been busy practicing their final dance - a finale with the 3rd graders!
Also we are busy making our Balloon Cars to race and chart and measure!
Both will be on display for our Exhibition Day on May 24th.
Please mark that date on your calendar as you won't want to miss it!
We will not be having face to face classroom time during the week of May 27th and June 4th. Our last get together will be on June 6th at Giggle Hill Park in Haiku. Time to be announced.
Please let me know if you are interested in having a year-end conference and we can schedule it during that time.

Aloha 2nd Grade Families!
Spring is definitely in the air! Lots of energy everywhere! The trees and flowers are blooming - lots of little animals running amuck - and lots of excitement in the classroom!
Every day that we meet the students are so happy to see each other! They share what is going on with themselves and listen to the stories that the other children bring! It is such a treat for me to be a part of this!
Our 2nd and 3rd graders are learning a new dance to share with you at our Student Exhibition on May 24th. Perhaps they are practicing at home because they are all really doing a great job!
This week is Spirit Week at Kihei Charter Virtual!
Tuesday is "Career Day" - please have your student come to school dress in their favorite career style.
Thursday is" Pajama Day" - students can wear their pajamas to school! Also have them bring their favorite book to read to the class!
Also this week we will be having an "information session" for any new families interested in Kihei Charter Virtual.
It will be held at the Middle School at 6:00. Please pass on this information if you know of any families that might be interested in joining us!
Remember - Student's are to bring in their Journals on April 26th - just a quick check to see how they are progressing!

Aloha 2nd grade families!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter holiday!
Can you believe our time together in 2nd grade is almost over - I can't!
It has been such a fun year - I have so enjoyed the time I have spent with your children - they are fabulous!
Now is the time to buckle down and get the OLS (On-Line School) progress going!
The goal is to get to 80% by the end of our school year - June 5th.
If need be - students can work through the summer - with the goal to reach 80% before the beginning of next year and be promoted to 3rd grade!

We have some fun things coming up in the next few weeks -
This week we will be doing "community charades" with our 3rd grade friends.
Please ask your child which community member they acted out!
On Thursday, April 19th - we will be having a "beach clean-up day" from 9 to 11.
The students in grades K through 4th will meet at Kam. III beach to do a beach clean-up and play some games.
We will meet at 9:00 at the beach (please bring gloves for your child), we will
clean for about 1 hour and then have some fun activities for the children to participate in.
Please bring a snack and water for your child on that day.
Next week we will begin work on our balloon powered race cars - please keep any 1/2 gal. cartons that you may have - we will be needing those to make our cars.
We will be having our end of the year exhibition day - on Thursday May 24th. Each class will do a presentation with a pizza party to follow - please mark your calendars!
Also - we will be having our end of the year picnic on June 6th at Giggle Hill in Haiku - more information to follow!

I hope everyone who was able to attend the whale watch last week had an enjoyable time - I know I did!
